IGERT trainee gives outreach talks

IGERT Trainee, Michelle Minton, seizes the opportunity to give outreach talks and to present her poster in order to develop and refine her presentation and delivery skills. She presented a science talk,Solar Cells, Electrolyzers and Hydrogen Fuel Cells, to Northwest Middle School students. She presented her poster, Synthesis of Metal-Porphyrin-Framework Structures, to her peers in science and engineering and to students in material science associations. She participated in the scholar’s bowl at the San Francisco Materials Science Convention and entered University of Tennessee’s Sigma Xi Student Competition for students in science and engineering. The IGERT program provides travel and materials funds to allow the student to take advantage of these opportunities and developmental activities.
