MESAS program: Three new classes

Three new classes were developed, to be taught as core curriculum for the MESAS program in 2009-2010, emphasizing the interplay of the various MESAS disciplines in an ecosystem-based approach to managing and studying living marine resources. The new courses are: Integrating Oceanographic, Ecological and Social Perspectives in Marine Ecosystems (a 3-week, field-based intensive); Innovative Approaches to Marine Ecosystems (a discussion-based, semester-long seminar); and The North Pacific Fishery Management Council: A Case Study (a 2-week intensive that includes attendance at a week-long Management Council meeting).
