Achievement

We are in the process of developing our IGERT Quantum Optics/Information Laboratory. Experiments will include:

i) Setting up and demonstrating a confocal optical cavity (basic to a host     of optical experiments). ii) Generating entangled photons and testing Bell’s inequality.  iii) Achieving Bose Einstein Condensation in a student laboratory.

We expect to report further on the trainees’ educational experience in the next reporting period. This component is expected to be a lasting contribution and continue after the termination of IGERT funding.
