Quantum coherent matter waves
Because of the IGERT program, trainee Mary Salit was able to take a course, offered by Prof. Brian Odom, on the topic of using cooled and trapped atoms for producing and studying quantum coherent matter waves. In this course, Mary was able to learn about techniques for cooling and trapping neutral atoms, atomic interferometry and Bose condensates.
