Achievement

We have sponsored a seminar series that has brought both established and emerging computational sciences figures to campus. These seminars have raised awareness of the IGERT program and its interdisciplinary objectives. Increasing the awareness of the type of research we are encouraging has increased faculty participation and generated ideas for student projects and collaborations between Computer Science and Biology faculty. Our current IGERT student attended these seminars and met with the invited speakers. This activity resulted in collaborative research ideas that were used to recruit students to the program.
