Trainees gain teaching experience

Several IGERT trainees have obtained valuable experience in teaching to enhance their educational and professional development. This includes Chris Baugher who served as TA for the Soil Ecosystem Laboratory for 2 semesters in 2012-2013, Renee Hill who served as Instructor of Social Research Methods and co-instructor of Law, Ethics and the Environment in fall 2012, Kerry Kemp who was TA of the Fire Ecology and Management course in fall 2012 and Kevin Decker who served as TA for Natural Resource and Ecosystem Service Economics in Spring 2013. In addition, Zion Klos taught one-month intensive Hydrology and Physical Geology Field Courses at Colorado College and Jarod Blades served as a guest lecturer in the McCall Outdoor Science School in Spring 2013. In addition, IGERT students Renee Hill and Zion Klos participated in the Workshop on Developing and Sustaining Interdisciplinary Graduate Programs that took place in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho, October 2012, and networked with diverse faculty.
