Fellow attends COP18 in Doha, Qatar

Fellow Yassir Eddebbar attended the COP18 at Doha, Qatar. As a scientist in a policy world he was immersed in a pressing and dynamic issue at the interface of science and policy (an area highly relevant to his scientific research). He discovered new dimensions of research (e.g. the role and forecasted changes of natural carbon sinks in climate stabilization targets and mitigation scenarios), which he hopes to incorporate into his PhD thesis and future career. Working with faculty and students from the UCSD International Relations and Pacific Studies, he generated discussions and events around climate change policy that have engaged faculty and students across campus.
