Results of collaborative work at American Chemical Society meeting

IGERT Fellow, Cynthia Wang has been collaborating with Prof. Dan Morse's group in the Department of Molecular, Cellular, and Developmental Biology at UCSB toward creating biomimetic photonic crystals through block copolymer assemblies. This technology would find application in energy efficient color displays. We synthesized and characterized pH-responsive colloidal assemblies using poly(styrene-block-2-vinyl pyridine) and a mixed surfactant system. The results of the collaborative work were at the 2013 Spring American Chemical Society National Meeting.
