Trainee's oral presentation recognized at international conference on the bioeconomy

IGERT Trainees and Associates continue to receive recognition and awards based on their IGERT research and collaborative endeavors through their departments, the university, and external organizations. Most notably, trainee Andrew McGowan has received international recognition by placing first in the student oral presentation of his IGERT funded research at the international conference “Growing the Bioeconomy: Social, Environmental and Economic Implications.” This conference was held from October 2-5, 2012 in Banff, Alberta, Canada. Andrew’s work was recognized as the best presentation from a field of six finalist who represented approximately 50 graduate students in attendance at the conference.
