Computer parsing efficiency of languages

IGERT Trainee Emily Pitler (Computer Science) published work demonstrating much improved computer parsing efficiency of languages that contain "crossed-dependencies". This property of certain languages has made it quite difficult in the past to achieve a high degree of accurate and efficient recovery of linguistic dependencies from naturally occurring text. Emily's contribution will likely lead to more efficient automatic structuring of text.
