Achievement

The IGERT students participate in a seminar class each semester. This past semester, each student was required to complete a Whiteside's outline (an outline of a proposed manuscript) related to a current project. The purpose of this outline is to provide guidance on the research. The outlines were sent to a group of students prior to the seminar class and this group of students provided a written critique similar to a critique that would be received on a submitted manuscript. Both the Whiteside's outline and the critique were presented during the seminar class and discussed among the entire group. A review of similar research in the literature and the significance of the work was specifically emphasized.
