Trainees complete entrepreneurship course

The newest cohort of IGERT LifeChips fellows completed The Northrop Grumman Entrepreneurship Course for Scientists and Engineers during Spring 2011. The objectives of this course include evaluation of opportunities for entrepreneurship ventures, identification of challenges facing technology entrepreneurs, identification of characteristics of successful companies, and successful business plan preparation. Course topics include start –up strategies, business idea evaluation, business plan writing, and introduction to venture capital. This course provides IGERT LifeChips fellows with a real – world introduction to the theory and practice of entrepreneurship through a series of presentations by prestigious entrepreneurs and industry leaders, coupled with discussions sessions highlighting the key organizational, strategic and financial challenges facing successful and unsuccessful entrepreneurs.
