Seminar speaker selection includes careful consideration regarding the tasks’ research focus as well as topics relating to political, governmental and societal challenges; thus, STAIR seminar speakers offer a richer experience over the traditional departmental seminars. The seminars have featured prominent speakers and authors from their fields. For example, Dr. Francis Chen, author of An Indispensable Truth-How Fusion Power Can Save the Planet, addressed the science of fusion as well as the political, governmental and societal challenges involved in moving toward fusion power.
