Anna Hiszpanski (Princeton, Chemistry and Biological Engineering) has been conducting ground breaking research on contorted hexabenzocoronene has yielded processing-structure –function relationships that can be used to guide the fabrication of organic field-effect transistors and organic solar cells with improved device performance. By decoupling the design variables, she has been studying the effect of tuning the chemistry, molecular structure and film structure on charge transport providing guidelines for molecular design. Her work has been published in peer-reviewed journals and presented at conferences, including an invited talk at the International Symposium of the Renewable and Sustainable Fuels IGERT at Rutgers University in June 2011. Because of her participation in the Nanotechnology for Clean Energy IGERT program and her excellence in research, Anna was awarded a Dept. of Defense NDSEG Fellowship starting in Sept 2011.
