Achievement

IGERT trainees Amy Maduram (neuroscience) and Erik Johnson (engineering) continued an interdisciplinary project they conceived as part of their training program coursework and presented their work at the Society for Neuroscience annual meeting in Washington, D.C. Their research developed a new microfluidic device preparation for studying the growth and the formation of neuronal networks from damaged spinal neurons, and their electrical activity in response to simulated pain stimuli.
