Achievement

Through exposure to interdisciplinary coursework (in particular BCHM Life Sciences Biochemistry), a research rotation with MultiSTEPS faculty member Ishwar Puri, and in colloboration with a biologist outside of the MultiSTEPS program, trainee Ravi Kappiyoor has made substantial contributions to understanding the mechanical properties of resilin with different amino acid sequences. He will be presenting this work at the ASME 2011 International Mechanical Engineering Congress & Exposition, and a manuscript has just been submitted to the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences.
