Nanotechnology for Clean Energy symposium

The most significant programmatic (versus individual faculty) achievement in the past year was the organization and holding of the First Annual Nanotechnology for Clean Energy IGERT Symposium on 9/23/2010. The Symposium featured Invited Lectures from world leaders in the fields of battery innovation, power electronics and photovoltaics. In addition to external speakers, several IGERT trainees were chosen for oral presentations while all trainees presented posters related to their IGERT research projects. The Symposium was designed to allow maximum interactions between the trainees and all of the invited speakers. This was facilitated by having the invited speakers assess and evaluate all of the posters during the breaks and lunch. In addition to the technical speakers, high level Administrators (Associate Deans and Deans) from both Rutgers and Princeton also attended and spoke in support of the IGERT program. The symposium was free and open to the public.
