New, popular course developed

A new, highly popular course entitled Topics in Energy Engineering, Economics and Policy was jointly developed by two new IGERT faculty from the Bloustein School of Public Policy and Planning at Rutgers and The Woodrow Wilson School at Princeton. The course features engineering, economics and policy of electric power grid and global integrated energy assessment modeling. This is a new course for both universities, held simultaneously at both universities using video conferencing to create a single classroom. Lectures alternated from one classroom to the other depending on the topic and included student presentations.

This course represents a new topic for both universities, incorporating engineering and science with policy and economics. The interdisciplinary subject matter would not have been offered by either school on their own. The course was open to all interested graduate students and required of IGERT trainees.
