Achievement

Each cohort has taken the responsibility for organizing bi-monthly brown bag seminars. The cohorts have focused on topics that illustrate a strong policy/science/communication focus. For example, students invited Eric Sorensen, a well-respected science reporter to talk during one of the brown bags. Students were curious about how to handle a phone call from a reporter; the cohorts subsequently met with Eric in order to "practice" their technique. Eric met with the students for two 1.5 hour sessions and he provided typical interview questions based on their area of research. Their responses were recorded and then analyzed after wards with Eric providing feedback and suggestions.
