Achievement

Outreach activities of trainees has continued to be extensive and has included outreach to local middle school science nights, local high school visits to UCSB labs, and the Science and Technology Day Solar Car Workshop that allows students to explore solar energy, the conversion of solar energy to work, and build a solar car model. Finally, in partnership with IGERT Fellow Alexis Ostrowski, the UCSB MRSEC Materials Research Laboratory education staff applied for and was awarded a SPIE Educational grant to expand the Solar Car Workshop.
