Trainee Angela Jimenez, second year graduate student, first year IGERT has data that shows that the size of tumors embedded in 3-D collagen matrices have a linear growth independent of the collagen concentrations (2-6mg/ml) or the tumor initial size (0.05-0.3mm). Moreover, the growth constant for each of the tumors is dependent on the initial size.
