Topics in Renewable Energy course

We taught a problem based course, Topics in Renewable Energy, that is now a permanent course. The course includes technical analyses of renewable energy systems, particularly solar and hydrogen. The course includes determination of energy payback, applications and efficiency of energy systems, economics, and policy. The course is problem based learning, with students expected to complete several group project. In the initial problem groups of four interdisciplinary graduate students examined the efficacy of the DOE hubs. The final problem examined energy use in Israel or Ghana, how to get University of Delaware off the electrical grid and how to implement Desertec. This course will be published in the education literature.
