Trainee invited to speak at HCAT

Trainee Maggie Grabow was one of the authors of “Economic and Health Impact of Bicycling in Wisconsin,” the capstone project that was a featured highlight from our 2009/10 IGERT report. As a result of this research, Ms. Grabow was invited to be one of the speakers at the 2nd Annual Healthy Communities and Active Transportation (HCAT) in Cleveland Ohio on May 9th, 2011. The state of Ohio is hoping to conduct a similar study to the one conducted last year by Trainees Grabow, Micah Hahn, and Melissa Whited. Ms. Grabow was also invited to speak at two meetings at the Minnesota Department of Transportation (MNDOT) in November 2010 - the Non-Motorized Transportation Research Committee (NTRC) meeting and the State Nonmotorized Transportation Advisory Committee (SNTC). These committees were hoping to learn more about the methodology used in the study in order to conduct a similar assessment in the state of Minnesota.
