Achievement

In the Fall of 2010 the NSMS graduate program, which was created as a direct result of the NSMS IGERT, gained a graduate student association. This was a student led effort. The first main activity of this board of NSMS Students was an assessment of the NSMS core courses. The association which includes several IGERT fellows, met as a group, shared their opinions about the NSMS core courses and developed suggestions. Then a selected delegation of students presented their suggestions in the IGERT retreat, where we also included the faculty teaching these courses. This assessment was followed by one on one visits with faculty who who adopted the suggestions.
