Trainee cohort completing energy research project

Cohort 2 is completing their energy research project for the the Confederated Salish and Kootenai Tribes (CSKT) of the Flathead Reservation. This project started with a field trip in September 2009. The field trip was followed by a campus screening of the documentary film, "Place of Falling Waters," attended by the co-directors Roy Big Crane and Thompson Smith. Students visited the reservation again in the winter to present their preliminary renewable energy assessment. This May students will return one last time to report on the potential of biomass as a source of bioenergy that can also contribute to forest restoration goals.
