Global Health Summer Institute established

The experience gained, materials developed, and the research conducted made possible by our IGERT project during the past three years provided the basis for permanently establishing a Global Health Summer Institute at University of Hawaii, which our graduate students will play a central role in running. This unique "UC Berkeley-UH Manoa Global Health Summer Institute," represents a collaborative effort of University of California at Berkeley's and University of Hawaii's public health programs. During this reporting period IGERT Trainees and Faculty designed and organized the entire academic content around IGERT's mission of integrative research and education. The Institute's global health theme is based on our IGERT project theme, integrating ecological, social and health sciences. The Summer Institute includes four courses aimed at a general audience, for which credits are available through University of Hawaii Outreach College.
