Achievement

As part of their educational experience, IGERT trainees participate in dinner seminars where they take turns presenting to the rest of the trainees and faculty in attendance. This year there have been a lot of very useful suggestions from the other trainees in the audience. (In the first few years, the questions were mostly of a clarifying nature). The trainees now know enough about the other research areas in the program that they are able to suggest new insights into the research of their fellow trainees. Because they often come from a different background, these suggestions are often very valuable as they are different that those that they might have already received from people in their own lab.
