MILES trainees receive awards and scholarships

Several MILES IGERT trainees have received recognition for their outstanding research, education, and outreach activities as evidenced by various awards and scholarships. Matt Green received the Chevron-Phillips Chemical Professional Excellence Travel Award for 2009-2010. Joe Allen received the James F. Eheart Travel Award ($400) and the Graduate Student Assembly Travel Fund Program Award ($200). Paul Sarnoski was featured as the IFT foundation scholar for 2009-2010. Vinodini Buck received the Food Science and Technology Award for Outstanding Graduate Student at Virginia Tech ($500; May 2010), a travel grant from IFT ($1500), and a travel grant from the National IFT ($1000) to the annual meeting in Chicago, IL in July, 2010.
