Research Achievements

Creating an interdisciplinary community of researchers

The first year of the IGERT program has concentrated on creating an interdisciplinary community of researchers from different departments at Rutgers (RU) and Princeton (PU) universities. Important outcomes of this effort have been the initiation of new cross-disciplinary projects and joint publications in interdisciplinary journals (see list). For example, in a number of cases, joint papers with authors from Physics, Chemistry, and Materials Science have resulted, as well as between IGERT members from RU and PU. We anticipate strengthening and building these research ties as the IGERT program proceeds.
