Techniques for studying the flow of information

IGERT trainee Paul Williams developed new techniques for studying the flow of information over time between an agent's nervous system, body and environment. These techniques were applied to an evolved model of relational categorization, and helped to identify where information about the size of one object was stored for later comparison to the size of a second object. They were also used to illuminate how information about the size of both objects flowed through the complete brain-body-environment system over time so as to produce behavior based on their relative size.
